The 5 Nutrition Response Testing(NRT) Stressors

As part of our root-cause resolution approach at SoulFit, we use a modality known as Nutrition Response Muscle Testing to help identify the underlying causes of ill health. There are 5 most common stressors that NRT utilizes to support uncovering imbalances within our health. These common stressors are:

  1. Hidden Food Sensitivities

  2. Immune Challenges

  3. Heavy Metal Toxicity

  4. Heavy Chemical Toxicity

  5. Active Scars

Let’s examine each common health stressor to help you understand our approach further.

Hidden Food Sensitivities

Food sensitivities and/or allergens are incredibly common and cause a cascade of negative symptoms within our health. One of the primary symptoms this digestive and immune distress can cause is known as inflammation, which is at the root of all chronic disease. Supporting our body to have proper digestive function and immune response to foods is vital to having a healthy, vibrant and well functioning body.

Symptoms related to food sensitives are:

  • Skin imbalances

  • Autoimmune conditions

  • Digestive issues such as bloating, gas, constipation, diarrhea, IBS, etc

  • Brain Fog

  • Chronic fatigue, imbalanced or low energy

  • Weight issues

  • Sleep disruption

  • Headaches/migraines

  • Thyroid conditions

  • Mood imbalances such as depression and anxiety

  • Hormonal imbalances

  • And more!

The top major food sensitivities and allergens in America today are dairy, gluten, peanuts, soy, grains, and corn. Sugar (and artificial sugars) are another primary body disruptor. With that said, a body can also have trouble digesting, and therefore create sensitivity to, any food.

Immune Challenges

The human body is a collection of organisms as well as human cells. We have both good and bad bugs (pathogens) within us that makes up our human ecosystem. Our “bugs” come in the form of viruses, parasites, fungi, and bacteria. It is normal in every human body to have each of these “bug” categories. The issues in our tissues arise when we lose balance amongst the organisms or do not have the internal resources (such as nutrients that are necessary for an optimal immune response) we need. When pathogens become more dominant than our good bugs, we have malnourishment and therefore dysfunction of immune response, or we acquire harmful immune strands that create a challenge in which immune system cannot resolve, we have immune function disruption.

Each day we are exposed to immune challenges (parasites, viruses, bacteria, fungi) . This is normal and a non-issue. In fact, these immune challenge exposures help us to have an adaptable and strong system. If our immune system is strong enough, we can combat any pathogen’s attempt at entering our system and making us a host. Instead, our body can properly detox them out, when functioning well. However, due to our food supply, stress, dehydration, chemical burdens, antibiotic use and more, our immune systems can become weakened. Immune challenges have become more prevalent in our world today and contribute to a variety of symptoms and diseases because of the commonplace of immune weakening factors.

Heavy Metals

Heavy metals are everywhere. They can be found in our dental fillings, some vaccinations, regular deodorant, some body and beauty products, cooking ware, canned foods, some seafood, and contaminated water. Heavy metals are known to be hormonal and immune disruptors, as well as have a variety of other ways they can impact the body. Heavy metals have also been shown to have significant correlations in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Personality disorders and Autism Spectrum disorders. Optimizing the body’s ability to properly detox and avoid an accumulation of heavy metals is crucial to healthy body tissue function.

Heavy Chemicals

Heavy chemicals are another critical stressor to minimize in order to optimize health. Heavy chemicals are found in  the form of dry cleaning fluids, toxic beauty care products, toxic cleaning products, food preservatives, pesticides, formaldehyde, synthetic fragrances, and more. These chemicals can accumulate in our body tissues over the years and create symptoms in very sneaky or obvious ways. These chemicals directly impact hormones, organ function, metabolic function, digestion, immunity, cognition and more.

Active Scars

Our skin is the largest organ we have in the human body and has a long list of invaluable functions. Over 80% of the sympathetic nervous system, which is one part of the autonomic nervous system, is on our skin. Our skin is the host for our meridians, which are internal energy pathways that help organs communicate with the rest of our body.  Not all scars are active. Therefore, not all scars impact the communication of the body. However, scars from an injury, prior acne, surgery, paper-cuts, stretch marks, etc that are active can act like a detour, blocking communication between body processes and/or organ function. At SoulFit, we use specific cold laser therapy, light therapy, and scar-supportive oils to resolve these blockages. These protocols help dissolve any issues within body communication and allow the energy to flow with more ease. A resolved active scar can have profound health impacts.
